Downtown Areas

Main Street Area

The Main Street area is considered by many to be the restaurant center of Ann Arbor. Featuring a wide array of galleries, bookstores, gift shops, clothing stores, and over 50 restaurants, many with seasonal sidewalk cafes.

State Street Area

The State Street Area connects the University of Michigan campus with the rest of Ann Arbor's downtown. A great mix of clothing stores, bookstores, music stores, and museums, as well a selection of eating establishments.

South University

South University is where students and townies interact. A wide assortment of interesting shops, including excellent jewelry stores, unique gift stores, University of Michigan souvenir shops, and music stores.

Kerrytown Historic District

This area, with its brick streets and turn-of-the-century buildings, has galleries, a concert house, antiques and gift shops, boutiques, indoor and outdoor markets, and the world-famous Zingerman's Deli. Kerrytown is also home to the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market.
